WILDHAGEN GREENHOUSES

Our Story
Our journey began in 1969 when Mary and Peter Wildhagen immigrated from Holland and established what is now a thriving greenhouse business. Originally a flourishing potato farm with ten greenhouses, the property soon transitioned into a flower operation while continuing to produce wholesale crops.

In 2004, Vira took over the farm from her parents, continuing their legacy while expanding the focus on flowers and plants. Since then, our passion for growing has only expanded. Today, we operate 50 greenhouses, cultivating a diverse selection of annuals, tropicals, vegetable plants, succulents, and more. We proudly serve customers through our open-air garden center, and wholesale distribution.

Above all, we are deeply grateful for our loyal customers and dedicated staff, whose support makes everything we do possible.
Sustainability is at the heart of our operations, guiding every aspect of how we grow and operate. We have made significant investments in environmentally friendly technologies, including a biomass boiler system that efficiently heats our greenhouses using renewable wood chips. This system not only reduces our reliance on fossil fuels but also minimizes our overall carbon footprint.

In addition to energy efficiency, we are committed to sustainable growing practices. For years, we have implemented biological pest control methods, using beneficial insects to naturally manage pests instead of relying on chemical pesticides. This approach fosters a healthier growing environment, supports biodiversity, and ensures that our plants are cultivated with minimal ecological impact.

Through these ongoing efforts, we have achieved significant improvement with sustainability in our operations, and we continue to explore innovative ways to further reduce waste, conserve resources, and protect the environment for future generations. Sustainability is not just a goal; it’s a commitment that shapes everything we do!
